About Maxwelton Chambers

Richards Pidgeon founded Maxwelton Chambers in 2016. Maxwelton Chambers specialises in human rights and refugee law. Richard also specialises in resolving church and religious disputes, disputes involving incorporated societies, charitable trusts and unincorporated associations. Richard regularly appears in the appellate courts, District and High Court throughout New Zealand as well as in tribunals such as the Immigration & Protection Tribunal and the New Zealand Lawyers and Conveyancers Disciplinary Tribunal. Counsel takes instructions in general civil litigation matters and work as a team to provide timely and focused advice and representation, including to obtain urgent relief (such as pre-trial injunctions or freezing orders) and to apply for judicial review of the exercise of statutory powers.
